Effectuation

Whenever we look at local potentials – in citizens, businesses, townscape, etc. – and advise our clients to select the most promising and desired elements, enable these elements to prosper, create networks among them, and combine them into a vision for the city’s future, then we apply what we learned from entrepreneurs developing new products and markets. The scientific term for this approach is “effectuation” and it describes how successful entrepreneurs make use of given resources to create an outcome they chose from what is possible with said given resources. Effectuation also means to search for and realize new development options instead of merely updating the past.
