Dr.-Ing. Christian Walloth

Christian Walloth is the founder of Walloth Urban Advisors SPRL. He leads strategy development projects and advises top-level executive clients in the public and private sector.

In addition to his role at Walloth Urban Advisors, Christian is the chair of the “Urban Systems” symposia at the bi-annual “European Meetings of Cybernetics and Systems Research” held in Vienna, and he is also the editor of the book series “Understanding Complex Urban Systems” published by Springer. He regularly contributes to international conferences and symposia covering both the urban sciences (including AESOP, ISOCARP, and IFHP conferences) as well as complexity and systems sciences (in particular ISSS and EMCSR conferences).

Christian is also the author of The Theory of Emergent Nested Systems that serves as a scientific foundation for Walloth Urban Advisors' strategy and implementation projects. Christian earned his PhD in the “Advanced Research in Urban Systems” program of the University of Duisburg-Essen. ​Prior to his PhD studies, Christian was a consultant working for Altran Germany, Arthur D. Little, and Roland Berger Strategy Consultants. He holds an engineering degree from RWTH Aachen University of Technology.
